OUR HOUSE IS YOUR HOUSE

This lovely restored Hotel was made by connecting two former ruined historic casa rural houses dating back over 100 years. The renovation maintained the genuine spirit of the building and its historic features, with ancient beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. Rest assured it has all the necessary modern comforts such as excellent Wifi, for good measure!

The house is tastefully furnished, using local antique furniture and has been recently updated. There are hints of British influence, antiquities and artworks collected from travels all over the world, resulting in a stylish combination of past and present and a subtle mix of cultures, but holds onto its Spanish spirit.

Almohalla 51 exudes tranquility and relaxation. Behind the whitewashed façade there are peaceful communal sitting rooms with a wood burning stove. There is also a well stocked library/music room for your use and a snug created as a further additional space to work or relax in.

Outside there are shaded patios for enjoying breakfast, landscaped terraces and a plunge pool. The upper terrace and pool have beautiful views across the town, the sierra and up to Archidona’s famous Sanctuary of the Virgin of Grace. Just perfect for enjoying tapas and a few drinks early evening whilst watching the stunning sunsets!

There’s also the Sun room, a converted pig barn by the pool, that is perfect for hiding away with a book or making the most of the views and transforms by night into an atmospheric room with candles, lights and chilled music. Also recommended for a spot of star gazing with a nightcap after a good meal in the town!

Our spaces are created to give you a real sense of belonging here. Personable, comfortable, stylish and most of all relaxed. All of our spaces lend themselves to being completely flexible for different needs and requirements of each guest. They can be used for complete relaxation, work or group activities, parties and celebrations or thinking spaces as a retreat from busy work life.

Caring for our environment

Almohalla 51 is naturally temperature controlled throughout the year due to its position and the thick stone walls, with heating for the winter and fans for cooling in the summer. Hot water is provided by solar power, a readily available resource in southern Spain and a key part of the owners eco aspirations. Where possible the conversion has used original or reclaimed materials and furniture to retain the character of the properties and to minimise the environmental impact. For this reason we do not have air-con.

Wherever possible, we support local businesses to help us run ours.

There is excellent wifi throughout and free parking nearby.

Almohalla 51 is an hour away from 5 major beautiful Southern Spanish cities.

Note. Due to the number of stairs, Almohalla 51 is unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Also, please note that children under 10 are not accepted unless the whole house is booked.
